Purugly

     Poor Purugly. She doesn't get much credit, in my opinion. I love Purugly, but I'm not sure if it's because I finally found a pokemon faster than my brother's Serperior, or because I love cats(Psh, Skitty my foot). 

     You heard correctly, you debbie downers of the pokemon world, Purugly is even faster than Jumpluff. No one thought it was possible, but I proved them wrong! However... Purugly can't necessarily fight with an iron fist. Attack is her 2nd highest stat, and that's not that great. Add on the painfully shallow movepool, and you have what most would call a waste. However, Purugly is still a sweeper, even if there are better options out there. With access to Sucker Punch, Faint Attack, the rare gem Assist, and STAB Body Slam, Purugly can carry her own weight, even if she only lasts two or three turns.

     Moveset: Sucker Punch/ Faint Attack/ Assist/ Body Slam

My Purugly knows these moves. Body Slam is a must, as it is an STAB. Faint Attack always hits, and Sucker Punch is to quickly remove Ghost type threats. Assist is for if nothing else works, but don't rely on it too heavily. Body Slam is perfect for a rapid fire attack.

     Counters:Any Speedy Fighting type

If in a single battle, any fighting type. If in any other kind of battle, you need a quick fighting type, because if it's slow, any owner of Purugly would target you with it's Flying and Psychic types, knowing of the Tiger Cat Pokemon's frailty.

Hydreigon x Haxorus

     Recently, I've been getting really uppity on the subject of the best of each type, especially on Dragon types. If it was up to me, I'd say Garchomp. However, I'm gonna' say Unova brought some interesting Dragon types onto the table. Of these Dragons, three of them are top evolutions and aren't legendary, and in order to get to the point of this post, the ones that are most feuded over are Hydreigon and Haxorus. Let's compare.
     Hydreigon: Poor Defenses/ High Sp Atk/ Mediocre Atk/ High Speed/ Mediocre Max Health

     Haxorus: Good Defenses/ Pitiful Sp Atk/ High Atk/ Mediocre Speed/ Mediocre Max Health

     Honestly, I have a Hydreigon, and I'm pretty confident he's better. However, when looking at it from an unbiased opinion, it depends what you're looking for. I like Sp Atk, and I like sweepers, so I chose Hydreigon. Him and Leavanny work well together. If you decide Atk is more your style, like my little brother, then Haxorus is for you. It's just dependent on your tastes. Even though I'd rather go for Water or Bug, which are my favorite types, Dragon is a well rounded substitute.

The "Old" Ones

     Rapidash is "old". Machamp is "old". Arbok is "old". I've heard it all before, but it's not true. Machamp is a wonderful Fighting type to have. His defensive skills come in handy and even though he's slow, his ability No Guard allows Dynamic Punch to hit every time. Arbok can crush with STAB Poison Fang. Rapidash can STAB Flame Charge to boost his already limber status. When you say Kanto was just a stepping stone for the inventive Johto, or the home of the hardcore Salamence and Metagross, Hoenn, or maybe even the cuddly, cutesy Sinnoh, you're mistaken. I don't know about you, but I love Lapras. I adore Parasect. I couldn't imagine pokemon without Jigglypuff and Pikachu. So, lemme' put it this way; the next time you go off trashing the all powerful Kanto, expect to be eaten by a Gyrados.

Leavanny

 

     Leavanny will never get the recognition it truly deserves. Being a horrible type in an extremely biased region in a game that has so many "cooler" choices that are actually incredibly overrated makes her a lost cause in a spontaneous popularity boost. However, a thin ray of hope shines through Leavanny's sad shame hole, protecting her from sweeping grass types such as Serperior. Leavanny isn't exactly bulletproof, but with the perfect set-up, she can be.

     Leavanny's shining gem is her attack stat. When threatened with a flying type, or rock type, or honestly anything that it's weak to, it can't do anything, and because of how popular flying types are, and how many grass types protect themselves with moves such as Aerial Ace, she can't be safe 24/7. However, her moves make both special attack and attack can come into play.

Suggested Moveset: Leaf Blade/Leaf Storm/X-Scissor/Calm Mind

     When threatened with pokemon which are advantageous against the poorly typed Leavanny, she must flee. However, she can fight off most sweepers who decide to underestimate the innocent looking Leavannny. With Calm Mind, the cost of weakened special attack from Leaf Storm is obsolete. It boosts special defense as an added bonus. Handy! Leaf Blade and X-Scissor are easy to use just in case, as at least one Bug type attack is necessary. 

Counters: Braviary/Jumpluff/Swellow/Darmanitan/Magmortar

As said earlier, Leavanny is ridiculously easy to annihilate, because it's weak to practically weak to everything. It's easy to just flick it away like a buggy booger. However, sweepers are NOT advised. Leavanny is meant to stop pokemon that are meant to destroy, like Zoroark.   

Jumpluff

     Jumpluff is a sad case. I can't find a single person who's willing to say that Jumpluff doesn't totally suck eggs. However, I have something that might just help it win the war in the search for Pokebuddies.
     Jumpluff has the speed of a cheetah on steroids. This is fantastic for a pokemon with such poor defensive skills, as anyone who can manage to hurt it is usually a hefty Rock or Fighting Type with stone edge. My Jumpluff is honestly my most strategic Pokemon I have, as I'm really more of a full on attacker.

My Jumpluff: Bounce, U-Turn, Acrobatics, Synthesis
     Despite what they say about Jumpluff being a good drain fighter, Jumpluff is honestly better in physical attack from my own experience. This moveset is very flexible, you could swap Acrobatics with Grass Knot or Aerial Ace, or Synthesis with Giga Drain or Leech Seed, though I wouldn't advise it. The mechanics for these moves are pretty simple. U-Turn is to rescue Jumpluff from super-effective PKMN, while Acrobatics or Aerial Ace would be a good rapid fire attack. Bounce can save you from Sawk's Stone Edge and hit hard as well. Add on the back-up plan of Synthesis, and you have a miraculous Jumpluff
     Counters: Zebstrika/Ampharos/Gigalith/Golem
Jumpluff has a large weakness to Zebstrika, and so you should honestly ignore the remnants of the list, unless you despise him, then you may resort to the rest. Zebstrika is Electric type, but he also learns Flame Charge, making him the perfect candidate for deflection.of Jumpluff.

Summing Things Up

     When I think of Pokemon, the first thing I think of is those judgmental people on the internet who live in a pathetic little Google community where they share memes about how much they hate Bidoof. Why? "Because he's stupid." That's not a real answer.If I don't like a pokemon, such as Squirtle(who I truly despise), I say, "he's overrated. People think he's the most adorable thing in the world, well I think he's as cute as I am patient. Basically, I think he's hideous. I also believe he's weak, and slow, and irritatingly cheesy." That's reasoning. This blog is here for one purpose only. To say that the underrated Pokemon deserve a chance. Why do you think I chose Jumpluff as the mascot (besides the fact he's straight-up adorable)? I'm not going to write on all Pokemon, because some just are too far to rescue(cough,cough,Furret). But everyone deserves a chance(almost).
